The Greater Vancouver, Lower Mainland Area BC is a place for world class salmon, and steelhead fishing. If you're someone like me and got hooked on fishing, you know it, and are out there when the action is hot.
...But as a greenhorn on the river you might be wasting more time, and gear, than you necessary would have to.
...so let me give you a helping hand showing you around my neighborhood taking you to some of my favorite fishing pools, and teaching you ways of getting the "big one" on your hook.
We're gonna need the proper gear and a licence over 16 years of age.
I wouldn't worry much about fishing shops, unless you're in need to fix your rod or reel.
My first choice of dependable, good supply of gears would be downtown, or New West Army and Navy stores, and out in Chilliwack, Fred's Tacle.
You can try the limited supply Walmart on the North shore in case of an emergency, like if you happen to run out of bubbers, or pencil weight.
By the way both are selling fishing licenses, don't forget the salmon,or stealhead sticker, and read learning the fishing guide booklet coming with your license...
I'll be teaching you to set up the entire gear, including correct type of Rod, and Reel, main and leader line swivels, weights hooks, wool, bait, etc. and to learn to "read" the river also.
All basic to advanced techniques, starting with casting, than the drift, and finally the playing and landing of different species of salmon, and steelhead to make you as sufficient at drift fishing on the river as you can be.
Sounds pretty exciting isn't it, and I bet now you just can't wait to be on the river start catching them one after the other.
Well in that case give me a call, let me be your personal guide for an exciting day on the river.my name is John Tar, you can reach me on my business line
